• Grace's Haven Expands Mental Health Support (wiregrassdailynews.com) — Residents in and around Andalusia can now access expanded mental health and support services through Grace’s Haven Ministries on Dr. M.L.K. Jr. Expressway. The nonprofit helps with copays, behavioral health costs, and prescriptions, while also providing clothing, personal care items, and connections to local assistance programs. A community thrift store helps fund these counseling and support efforts.
   

• Covington County officials conduct night-long manhunt, two arrested, officials say (wdhn.com) — A deputy’s attempted traffic stop near Andalusia led to a car chase, an overnight manhunt in the Loango area, and the capture of a fugitive wanted on multiple felony warrants. Two men were arrested after help from Andalusia Police and several surrounding agencies, and charges and bond details are still pending.
   

• Andalusia Ballet to host auditions (andalusiastarnews.com) — Local students can audition for Andalusia Ballet’s 44th season starting May 17, with sessions organized by school grade and led by a guest teacher. Dancers and parents will also attend an informational meeting covering expectations, time and financial commitments, and opportunities. Both boys and girls are encouraged to participate and explore the benefits of ballet training.
