• Gadsden State announces Spring 2026 graduates (gadsdenmessenger.com) — Several Attalla residents are among the newly announced Spring 2026 graduates from Gadsden State Community College, earning associate degrees and certificates with many receiving academic honors. The college recognized 440 students overall, highlighting Summa, Magna, and Cum Laude achievements, giving local families plenty of reasons to celebrate their hometown scholars’ hard work. 
• County Sports Hall of Fame honoring inductees (gadsdenmessenger.com) — Attalla readers will see a familiar face as longtime Etowah High coach and educator James Wesley Graves Jr. is among those honored in the 2026 Etowah County Sports Hall of Fame class. The June 13 ceremony at The Venue at Coosa Landing will also recognize standout athletes, coaches, and community sports leaders from across Etowah County, celebrating decades of local football, basketball, running, cheerleading, and golf achievements.
