953 New COVID-19 Cases, 25 Deaths Confirmed In Alabama

In just one day, the Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed 25 more COVID-19 deaths and 953 new cases.

MONTGOMERY, AL — In the last two days, the Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed 48 COVID-19 deaths statewide, and confirmed 953 new cases of the virus in the last 24 hours.

The 25 deaths confirmed Wednesday brings the statewide COVID-19 death total to 879, with the state averaging nearly 14 deaths per day over the last week.

Total, Alabama has confirmed 31,624 cases of the virus, with 18,866 presumed to have recovered. In the last two weeks the state has reported 9,181 new cases of COVID-19.

  • June 17: 930 new cases
  • June 18: 752 new cases
  • June 19: 550 new cases
  • June 20: 465 new cases
  • June 21: 448 new cases
  • June 22: 649 new cases
  • June 23: 953 new cases

Of the 953 cases confirmed Wednesday, the three counties that have led the way in total cases in the state — Montgomery County, Mobile County and Jefferson County — also had the most new cases reported Wednesday:

  • Mobile County: 112 new cases
  • Jefferson County: 87 new cases
  • Montgomery County: 87 new cases
  • Lee County: 59 new cases
  • Marshall County: 42 new cases
