Alabama Confirms 26 New COVID-19 Deaths, Topping 700 Total
The Alabama Department of Public Health confirmed 26 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.
MONTGOMERY, AL — The Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed 714 deaths from COVID-19 as of Monday afternoon, an increase of 26 fatalities in just 24 hours. The state has reported more than 20,500 cases total since the pandemic began.
Of the 20,590 cases of the virus confirmed since testing began March 13, more than a quarter of them have been reported in the last two weeks.
The ADPH reported 430 new cases of the virus Sunday, bringing the Friday-Sunday total to 1,525 new cases.

Montgomery County continues to see the fastest increase in new COVID-19 cases, as the county has added 825 cases in the last two weeks.
The counties with the most COVID-19 cases as of Monday afternoon:
- Mobile County: 2,461 cases; 421 in last 14 days
- Montgomery County: 2,128 cases; 825 in last 14 days
- Jefferson County: 2,078 cases; 449 in last 14 days
