Birmingham Kidnapping: Suspects Charged With Unrelated Crimes

Law enforcement officials believe 3-year-old Kamille McKinney may be out of the Birmingham area by now.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — More than three days have passed since 3-year-old Kamille McKinney was reportedly abducted from a birthday party in the Tom Brown Village housing community in Avondale. While Kamille is still missing, law enforcement officials say two people of interest in custody are cooperating with police.

Both people detained have been charged with crimes not related to the kidnapping, however. Patrick Devone Stallworth, 39, is charged with possession of child pornography and possession with intent to distribute child pornography. The images were discovered on his phone during the ongoing investigation into the abduction.

Derick Irisha Brown, 29, remains in the Jefferson County Jail as well, after authorities filed a motion Tuesday to revoke her bond in a 2018 case in which Brown is accused of abducting her three children from DHR custody. Brown also uses the name Quentesa Jackson.

During a news conference Monday, Birmingham Police Chief Patrick Smith confirmed authorities are searching beyond state lines for Kamille.

Police have said they are unsure if the child is even still in the Birmingham area anymore. They also believe more people are involved in this case than just the two who allegedly took Kamille from the birthday party.
