BIRMINGHAM, AL — The past week saw a variety of stpries make headlines on Patch, as a Birmingham police officer was arrested and charged with assault, stemming from an incident between he and a female inmate. As well, Auburn University found a replacement on the air for Rod Blamblett, who died in a car wreck in July.

Auburn University announced that Andy Burcham will be the new voice of the Auburn Tigers this fall when football season kicks off. Burcham has been a part of Auburn radio broadcasts for the past 31 years.

3-Year Old Dies After Found Floating In Swimming Pool

A 3-year-old child who was found floating in a swimming pool in Graysville Tuesday died at the hospital. The child was discovered just before 6 p.m. Tuesday and was transported to Children's of Alabama.
