BIRMINGHAM, AL - National attention turned to Alabama once again this past week, as a Jefferson County grand jury indicted a woman for manslaughter after her five month old fetus died after she was hot during an altercation. A national petition was even created to get her released from jail.

That was just one of the major news stories form the past week - a week that also included a fatal shooting at the Galleria, and some national accolades for the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
