BIRMINGHAM, AL — A week has passed since the kidnapping of 3-year-old Kamille "Cupcake" McKinney from the Tom Brown Village housing community in Avondale. A grid search by law enforcement Sunday came up empty.

Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham PD said Birmingham police and Birmingham Fire and Rescue, along with other undisclosed agencies and volunteers, began a grid search at 1 p.m. Sunday. The search was conducted in the east area of Birmingham which extended about two miles.

The search was completed at 5:30 pm and did not produce any evidence to help the investigation, Williams said.

Kamille was last seen at a birthday party in the housing community at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. She was last seen wearing a pink t-shirt with leopard print design and leopard print shorts with no shoes. According to witnesses, a woman in a dark SUV left the location with Kamille. A reward totaling $25,000 is offered for Kamille's safe return.

A man who was detained after the kidnapping was released on bond Thursday morning. Patrick Devone Stallworth, 39, bonded out of the Jefferson County Jail at 3:22 a.m, after being charged possession of child pornography.

Stallworth has not been charged with any crime related to the Kamille McKinney abduction, although he was allegedly in the vehicle that was seen leaving the birthday party with Kamille in the Tom Brown Village housing community Saturday night.
Stallworth and Derick Irisha Brown were taken into custody Oct. 15 after police were informed that the vehicle said to have been involved in the kidnapping was spotted at a Center Point apartment complex.

Stallworth was charged with possession of child pornography and possession with intent to distribute child pornography. The images were discovered on his phone during the ongoing investigation into the abduction.

Brown remains in the Jefferson County Jail after authorities filed a motion Tuesday to revoke her bond in a 2018 case in which Brown is accused of abducting her three children from DHR custody. Brown also uses the name Quentesa Jackson.

Both Brown and Stallworth say they are not connected with the kidnapping.
