• Cherokee County Arrest Files for Tuesday, April 21 (weisradio.com) — A recent Cherokee County arrest report lists several individuals charged over a 24-hour period, including a 33-year-old Centre resident accused of violating a domestic violence protection order. All arrests are based on probable cause, and everyone named is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

• Former UA player Nelson to lead Lady Dragons (northwestgeorgianews.com) — Longtime educator and former University of Alabama standout Leah Nelson, a Cherokee County Sports Hall of Famer, has been hired to lead Pepperell High School’s Lady Dragons. Nelson most recently worked as library media specialist at Cherokee County High School in Centre bringing local ties and championship experience to her new role. Her move highlights Centre’s tradition of producing accomplished coaches and athletes.
