• East Brewton employee accused of theft and forgery (wkrg.com) — An East Brewton city employee who serves as clerk for the Water Works and Sewer Board has turned herself in to Escambia County authorities and is free on bond while facing theft, ethics, and multiple forgery charges. Investigators allege more than $46,000 was taken from board funds since January 2026 and are reviewing whether earlier incidents occurred, with more updates expected as the case develops. 
• East Brewton water employee arrested, released on bond (brewtonstandard.com) — An East Brewton Water Works employee is under investigation after authorities allege more than $46,000 went missing from the Water Board’s funds between January and July. Mayor Terry Clark Shell stressed the board is separate from city government and praised the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office for its handling of the case, with more details expected as the probe continues.
