Hoover's new Riverwalk Health Center to feature Baptist Health and Seale Harris (bhamnow.com) — Hoover leaders have secured Baptist Health and Seale Harris Clinic as anchor tenants for the new Riverwalk Health & Wellness Center, a key piece of the city's 90-acre mixed-use Riverwalk project. Expected to open in 2028, the center aims to bring more diagnostic, wellness, and restorative services closer to Hoover residents while adding housing and retail that could reshape the local economy.

2. Family sought for 5 men who died recently in Jefferson County (al.com) — Jefferson County authorities are trying to locate relatives of five men, including 76-year-old Robert Michael Standridge, who was found dead in his Hoover apartment on September 15. With no known family contacts, the coroner's office is asking anyone who may know Standridge's or the other men's relatives to call 205-930-3603 so their bodies can be released for burial.

3. Central Alabama prepared to help Hurricane Isaias evacuees (wbrc.com) — Hoover officials are monitoring Hurricane Isaias and may open the Hoover RV Park to Gulf Coast evacuees if conditions warrant, while nearby counties are already offering free camping and parking. Residents should expect heavier interstate traffic, especially on I-65, and are urged to be patient and cautious as more out-of-town drivers pass through central Alabama.

4. Boy pulled from pool after mom allegedly left kids alone (newsnationnow.com) — A 2-year-old boy nearly drowned in a Hoover swimming pool but survived after two bystanders pulled him from the water and performed CPR before first responders arrived.
