  1. An inmate at the Limestone Correctional Facility was allegedly beaten and killed by another inmate Saturday. There is a DOC investigation into the incident. (AL.com)
  2. A new historic marker has been added in Huntsville to honor Alice Boarman Baldridge, the county’s first female attorney. The historic marker sits at 703 Adams St. downtown, where Baldridge’s family home was. (WHNT News 19)
  3. Catch 25, a new seafood restaurant/brewpub, is headed downtown! The spot is set to open around the end of this month, but there isn’t a set date yet. It will be located in the former site of Below the Radar. (AL.com)
  4. This weekend marked 25 years with the Madison City Board of Education! Citizens in Madison and Triana partnered together after parents from those areas decided they wanted more of a say in their children’s education, so they split off from Madison County Schools to form a new district. (WHNT News 19)

  • Don’t forget that this week is Alabama College Application Week, which means that high school students will be able to apply to many universities in the state with application fees waived. Check out the list of participating schools here.
