Here are the top 3 stories in Mobile today:

  1. The 12th Annual Mobile Chocolate Festival returns this year to benefit the Penelope House, a local domestic violence shelter that serves Mobile, Washington, Clarke, and Choctaw Counties. At the chocolate festival, attendees can meet local vendors, eat delicious food, and buy chocolate, of course. This is the perfect family event and there will be many activities for children, including a clown and balloon animals! Volunteers are needed the day before Apr. 8 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. for set up and the day of Apr. 9 from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. (Fox 10 News)
  2. Mobile-area gun ranges have apparently seen an increase in people coming in for proper gun training. This may be due to the fact that in nine months, Alabama residents will be able to carry a concealed gun without a permit, so long as they pass a background check. That's where the training comes in, though owners of these ranges are unsure if the increase in demand will continue. (NBC 15 WPMI)
  3. Mobile's downtown airport officially has a new name! The airport was previously referred to as the Brookley Aeroplex. However, due to its recent growth, The Mobile Airport Authority Board unanimously decided that it warranted a new name to reflect that. The new name will be Mobile International Airport.
