1. Mobile Police investigate shooting off Sage Avenue Sunday morning (wkrg.com) — Mobile Police are investigating an early-morning shooting off Sage Avenue after neighbors were jolted awake by about eight gunshots and found a sedan riddled with bullets and a shattered driver's window. Officers taped off the street, but it's still unclear who was hurt or what sparked the gunfire, and investigators have not yet released further details.
   

2. Mobile Mayor announces date for start of Second Line Transit (fox10tv.com) — Mobile residents will soon see big changes to public transportation, as Mayor Sprio Cheriogotis confirmed that the new Second Line Transit system launches September 28 with trolleys and microtransit vehicles. A new trolley will serve the Downtown Circulator on Saturdays and rotate through fixed routes on weekdays, aiming to better connect Mobilians to jobs, activities, and attractions across the city.
   

3. This Wednesday and Thursday are set to be important days for the new Mobile River Bridge (wlox.com) — Key financing steps for the new Mobile River Bridge and Bayway are scheduled for September 16–17, potentially giving Alabama the money to start building a six-lane cable-stayed bridge from Mobile. The plan includes low-interest federal TIFIA loans and revenue bonds to fund a wider Bayway with three lanes in each direction, promising long-term relief for local drivers and commuters.
   

4. Work set to begin Monday at busy Mobile intersection (fox10tv.com) — Expect traffic changes this week at North McGregor Avenue and Spring Hill Avenue as work begins Monday, starting with traffic control signs and followed by temporary closures near Spring Hill. Mobile officials are urging drivers to plan extra time, watch for shifting patterns, and stay tuned for updates as the project progresses through this busy intersection.
   

5. Crash involving semi-truck shuts down interstate near Wallace Tunnel (wkrg.com) — Traffic on I-10 Eastbound near the Wallace Tunnel was shut down Sunday evening after a crash between a semi and an SUV backed vehicles up from Water Street to Battleship Parkway. Emergency crews from Mobile responded, one person was taken on a gurney, and traffic was still being rerouted as officials worked to clear the heavily damaged SUV from the scene.
