Here are the top three stories in Mobile today:
- Midtown Mobile Fire Station located at 57 S. Lafayette Street has been temporarily shuttered due to asbestos concerns. The concerns were raised after a fire station tile tested positive for cancer-causing asbestos. The station's equipment and firefighters have been absorbed by surrounding stations. (NBC 15 WPMI)
- A man and a woman were arrested on Monday night following two separate police chases. The Mobile Police Department has charged Jarvis Farris, 24, with various charges after a chase that began at the intersection of Pleasant Avenue and St. Stephens Road. The department has charged Felicia Robinson, 32, after chasing her for two miles in a stolen vehicle from the Auto Max parking lot. (WKRG News 5)
- Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson and the Mobile City Council are considering a new annexation map. The map will reportedly add another 26,000 residents to the city's population. The new plan could potentially make Mobile the state's second-largest city. (Lagniappe)
