Here are the top three stories in Mobile today:
- The Mobile Metropolitan Planning Organization has approved the long-stalled Mobile Bay bridge project. The vote was unanimous on Wednesday after a new proposal was presented. The construction will reportedly begin at the start of 2023. The design will carry three lanes of traffic across the Mobile River. (Fox 10 News)
- The 2022-2023 school starts on Thursday, Aug 4 for Mobile Country Public Schools. Several stores in the Mobile area are offering special promotions for families to prepare for the new school year. Click the following link for a list of store deals and for school supply lists. (WKRG News 5)
- Mobile Metro Jail inmates are drilling through walls to smuggle in items. The inmates are reportedly coordinating with external individuals to smuggle items through drilled holes. The ingenious drilling operation is in response to the jail cracking down on inmates using the window systems. (NBC 15 WPMI)
