  2. The Mobile Police Department has arrested a man accused of shoplifting, then stealing a woman's car while she was still inside it. 3. Effective August 2022, Mobile County high school students will no longer have block scheduling a schedule used by the state's largest school system since 1997. Instead, students will take more classes throughout the academic year, with each class being shorter. According to academic coordinator Helen Miles, the new schedule will "be more engaging for the students" and allow them to "dig a little bit deeper in their classes and extend that time for all year."
