Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:

  1. The Mobile Police Department said one man is dead after two separate traffic accidents occurred. On Sunday, Apr. 17 at 5:00 a.m., Mobile police officers were called to a traffic accident on I-65 northbound at Dauphin Street. When officers arrived, they found an empty vehicle that was left in a ditch. After this accident, Mobile police officers were called about another accident where a man was hit by a vehicle. Officers said the unidentified, adult Hispanic male was unresponsive on the side of the interstate when they arrived. This is an ongoing investigation. (WKRG News 5)
  2. On Saturday afternoon, the USS Alabama's Living History Crew was playing out a scene from World War II onboard the battleship. A love of preserving the past inspires the Battleship's Living History Crew to put on the reenactments of the sacrifice of the Greatest Generation. A crew of about 50 volunteers put on the show, and their re-enactments take place every two months. (WLOX)
  3. The Rose Center opened its drop-in center for trafficking victims a little more than four years ago. Since March 2018, they have helped more than 330 women and children ranging in ages from 8 to 45. The Rose Center provides victims with hygiene items, clothing, emergency shelter, as well as help with placement. (WKRG News 5)
