Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:

  1. Mobile County announced that the Mobile County Emergency Management Agency's outdoor warning siren system will be phased out in 2022. The warning system is being phased out due to a cost-benefit analysis of updating the current systems. In the announcement, MCEMA recommended residents download apps to keep track of any emergencies. 2. According to police, both attendance and crime have been down for the 10 parades Mobile has hosted this year. Attendance has been down nearly 18 percent this year, likely due to COVID-19 restrictions. Police say crime is down because people are taking action and calling in crimes before they occur.
