Here are the top three stories in Mobile today:
- Employees of the City of Mobile are receiving a raise this year. City workers will receive a 5 percent cost of living raise at the start of the 2022 fiscal year, along with another 2.5 percent increase that will take effect on Apr. 9. In addition, starting pay has increased from $11.89 per hour to $15.22 per hour. (WKRG News 5)
- A large sinkhole on South Bayou Street is causing problems for local residents. Workers have attempted to repair the 3 to 4-foot long sinkhole, but it keeps coming back. Residents are reportedly asking for a better, more permanent solution.(NBC 15 WPMI)
- A Moss Point PD K9 was shot by a suspect early Tuesday morning after police responded to a burglary alarm at a gas station. The K9 was immediately transported to Mobile for veterinary treatment. He is in serious condition after undergoing surgery. (WKRG News 5)
