Here are the top stories today in Mobile:
- Mobile police officers delivered a trailer full of supplies to Houma, Louisiana to help recovery efforts nearly a month after Hurricane Ida. Those supplies include generator oil, first-aid kits, cleaning supplies, tire repair kits, and food. A church group will be following to help clean up the yards of police officers and firefighters; they will be there a week to help with recovery efforts. (WKRG News 5)
- It has been announced that a special election would result if now-deceased Mobile City Councilman Levon Manzie wins the runoff election on Oct. 5. Manzie passed away unexpectedly over the weekend, but it is too late to remove the late City Councilman's name from the ballot, and some voters have already cast their ballots. (FOX10 News)
- There was a shooting at the Stone Gate Apartments on Sept. 21. Two people have been sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, one of which was sustained in trying to disarm the suspect. (WKRG News 5)
- Mobile Police have arrested and charged Lecarey Lett, 27, in the sports bar parking lot killing that took place on Sept. 11. (FOX 10 News)
- Drivers are tired of "Band-Aid patches" and request that the city of Mobile repaves McKinley Avenue. (NBC 15 WPMI)
