The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Mobile.

Good morning, Mobile! I'm Sean Peek, and I'll be your new source for all the events, news, and general happenings in your town. Here is everything you need to know today in five minutes or less.
First, today's weather:
Partly sunny and warmer. High: 54 Low: 46.
Here are the top 3 stories today in Mobile:
- This week, the City of Mobile will begin relocating some of the squirrels in Bienville Square to address overpopulation and protect the park's historic Live Oaks. The average number of squirrels in Bienville Square is significantly higher than typical squirrel populations in both the wild and other municipal parks, which could negatively impact both the trees in the park and the squirrels themselves. - The Mobile Police Department is investigating several violent incidents that took place over the New Year's weekend. In one incident, a 41-year-old man was shot and killed by residents at South Bay Apartments after the man attempted to break into a residence. Officers are also looking into two separate stabbings that took place on New Year's Eve. (utv44.com)
- Last December, a patient at Mobile Infirmary was able to wander into a cryogenic freezer and destroy the embryos being stored there. Today, the lawsuit against the hospital's center for reproductive medicine is set to go before a judge. The case involves three accusations of unlawful death in the destruction of these embryos.
