Here are the top stories in Mobile today:

  1. The Mobile police department is investigating a shooting that injured one man at a Seabreeze apartment. During the shooting, an occupied vehicle was also struck by stray gunfire. Authorities report the man's injuries are non-life-threatening. (FOX10 News)
  2. The City of Mobile has created a new department called the Office of Professional Responsibility. Former Special Agent in Charge of the Mobile FBI, Rob Lasky, will lead the new department which will consolidate complaints, both internal and external, against any city employee. The new department will investigate the complaints and issue an opinion to Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson on the validity of the complaint along with any recommendations. (NBC 15 WPMI)
  3. Chief Assistant District Attorney, Keith Blackwood, has announced his candidacy for Mobile County District Attorney for the upcoming 2022 election. The current District Attorney, Ashley Rich, has announced she will be retiring and will not seek reelection. Blackwood has nearly fourteen years of experience as a prosecutor. (WKRG News 5)
