Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:
- Today, Mobile County Public Works will be clearing and removing debris in neighborhoods affected by the tornadoes earlier in the week. The department has strict guidelines on where and how residents may throw out debris from their own property. Items Public Works will not pick up include household garbage, appliances, or hazardous waste. (WKRG News 5)
- The Mobile Literary Festival is officially returning to the Ben May Main Library next month. This year's events include a reading by Ashley M. Jones, Alabama's Poet Laureate, and a pop-up shop featuring local writers. (NBC 15 WPMI)
- Homeowners facing pressing repairs may be able to get help from City Hall. The City Of Mobile's Critical Repair Grant is currently accepting applications from local residents with homes in urgent need of renovation. (Press Release Desk)
