• Action 8's Tickled Pink postponed until October 17 (waka.com) — Montgomery residents planning to attend Action 8's Tickled Pink fundraiser should note it's been postponed to Saturday, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Montgomery Biscuits' DABOS Park. The breast cancer benefit will still feature more than 75 vendors, entertainment, and a Survivor Makeover reveal, with discounted tickets and T‑shirt bundles available online.
   

• Newly created Alabama STEM Council Seal of Approval accepting applications (trussvilletribune.com) — A new Alabama STEM Council Seal of Approval program, announced from Montgomery, is now accepting applications from long-running, out-of-school STEM programs and events across the state. Local families and providers in Montgomery can seek this designation to highlight high-quality STEM opportunities for kids, with applications open as of September 28 and awards to be announced after a formal review process.
   

• Mayor rejects Tuberville's latest threat to send National Guard to fight crime in Alabama cities (al.com) — Montgomery residents are hearing their city described as a "war zone" in a new gubernatorial campaign ad by Sen. Tommy Tuberville, who suggests he'd send the National Guard into Alabama cities. Mayors in Mobile, Birmingham, and previously Montgomery's Steven Reed have pushed back, noting recent declines in violent crime and arguing Guard troops aren't needed to police local streets.
