Class 7A Region 3 Could Be State's Strongest Region
Five of the top 10 teams in the state in Class 7A are in Region 3, making it likely the state's strongest region top to bottom.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - There should be no questioning which region in Alabama's Class 7A is playing the best football right now. The Alabama Sports Writers Association weekly Top 10 poll includes five Region 3 teams, with one team falling out this week.
Vestavia Hills entered the Top 10 this week after knocking off Spain Park 28-21 Friday night, which dropped the Jags out of the poll. Mountain Brook defeated Tuscaloosa County 34-0, Hoover beat Thompson 45-26 in a battle of the two topped ranked 7A teams and Hewitt-Trussville outlasted Oak Mountain in a shootout 52-47.
The road does not get any easier for these teams this coming week, as Mountain Brook hosts Spain Park Friday night. The Spartans are 3-0 and coach Chris Yeager is inching closer to becoming the all-time winningest coach in Mountain Brook's history.

Hoover will travel to Hewitt-Trussville this weekend - with the Bucs facing another future University of Alabama quarterback in the Huskies Paul Tyson. Tyson accounted for five touchdowns in Hewitt-Trussville's shootout with Oak Mountain.
Thompson will play Oak Mountain this weekend, hoping to rebound from its loss to Hoover. The Warriors' QB Taulia Tagovailoa - also a Crimson Tide commit - racked up nearly 500 yards passing against a stout Hoover defense, and added four touchdowns to his stats.
