Mountain Brook approves parking restriction after study finds students walking in roadway (abc3340.com) — Mountain Brook has approved a new weekday parking ban on the inside of the Corinth Drive curve near Cherokee Bend Elementary to protect families walking during afternoon dismissal. A recent traffic study documented parents and children in the roadway, and the city is also weighing future sidewalk construction and ADA-compliant crosswalk upgrades to improve long-term pedestrian safety. 
2. Advocates for trail at Alabama Veterans Memorial Park reach compromise (villagelivingonline.com) — Mountain Brook's City Council has shortened the planned Veterans Memorial Park trail and approved a joint policing agreement with Birmingham, directly affecting how residents will use and experience the park. Council members also backed several project upgrades, a new backup fire truck lease, restricted parking on Corinth Drive, and future fire and EMS coverage for a Shades Creek Parkway address.

ALDOT will detour traffic via Caldwell Mill and Dolly Ridge while crews join the new bridge halves, part of a $53 million widening that adds a turn lane and sidewalk.
