MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — After voters in Mountain Brook approved a 10-mill tax ad valorum tax increase in September, the Mountain Brook Board of Education is moving forward with the capital improvement projects planned for the added funds. This week, the board selected Brasfield & Gorrie to manage the projects, according to a report by Village Living.

Residents will begin paying higher property taxes in 2020. The funds will enable Mountain Brook Schools to make about $60 million in improvements over the next 16 to 20 years.

Three large projects are on the schedule right away for Brasfield & Gorrie — one at Mountain Brook High School, one at Mountain Brook Junior High and one at Brookwood Forest Elementary — that will begin in 2020, according to Village Living.
