⢠History-Maker in Scottsboro: Lela Moser Breaks 132-Year Barrier as First BlackĀ Valedictorian (speakinoutweeklynews.net) ā Scottsboro residents can celebrate a major milestone: senior Lela Moser has become the first Black valedictorian in Scottsboro High Schoolās 132-year history, while also earning the schoolās top honors and multiple state track titles. Her success, rooted in a family legacy of school integration, is inspiring younger students and bringing statewide recognition to Scottsboro.

⢠Echoes of Removal: North Alabama and its history in the Cherokee Trail of Tears (waaytv.com) ā North Alabamaās role in the Cherokee Trail of Tears still echoes today, and Scottsboroās own Heritage Center is helping tell that story. Local historian James Sentell and tribal members describe how removal routes through nearby towns, including areas close to Scottsboro, displaced thousands and shaped the Native communities that remain in the region.
