1 Dead, 2 Hospitalized In Jefferson County Wreck

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — One person was killed and two others hospitalized in a crash in Jefferson County Monday afternoon. The crash occurred just after 1 p.m. on Carson Road in North Jefferson County.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said a Chevrolet crossed over the center line, striking a GMC SUV head-on. The collision killed the driver of the Chevrolet, 41-year-old John Eric Wright, of Fultondale, and hospitalized the driver of the SUV and a young child.

The extent of their injuries is currently unknown, Money said.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
