📰 News we're reading
• Marsha Annette Young (July 31, 1954 — October 2, 2026) (trussvilletribune.com) — Trussville is mourning the passing of 72-year-old Marsha Annette Thomas Young, a devoted Christian, gardener, and mother who died October 2. Visitation is set for Monday, October 12, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Birmingham, followed by a graveside service in the Abbey Mausoleum chapel, with family expressing gratitude to Grandview Medical Center's SICU team.
• Central Alabama fire crews deploy ahead of Hurricane Isaias (wbrc.com) — Trussville firefighters are among several Jefferson County departments pre-deploying to coastal Alabama to help with Hurricane Isaias, including specialized water rescue teams for potential flooding. While they'll stage in places like Foley and Mobile, leaders say enough crews remain at home to respond if the storm affects Trussville and surrounding communities.
