2 Robbery Suspects Sought By JeffCo Sheriff

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies are searching for two suspects after a reported robbery at the Chevron on Highway 75 in Pinson. The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Sgt. Joni Money with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the suspects were armed and fled the scene in a silver Mitsubishi Mirage.

Money said that shortly afterwards, a Jefferson County deputy observed a vehicle with occupants matching the description of the suspects. Deputies pursued the vehicle to the Highland Trace area, where the vehicle wrecked. While fleeing the area, the suspects shot at the deputies, who then returned fire, Money said.

Deputies are still searching the area for the suspects. No Deputies were injured during the exchange of gunfire. ALEA is assisting in the investigation.
