Accident Involving Stolen Vehicle Under Investigation: Sheriff
Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating an accident on Roebuck Parkway over the weekend involving a stolen vehicle.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accident Friday on Roebuck Parkway. The accident, which occurred just before noon, involved a stolen vehicle, according to law enforcement.
Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said a vehicle passed deputies heading southbound at a high rate of speed, but were unable to catch up with the vehicle. Money said that upon reaching the intersection of Roebuck Parkway and Tarrant-Huffman Road, deputies found the offender had been involved in an accident.
Witnesses stated that the offender’s vehicle approached the location at a high rate of speed and hit the concrete lane divider. The vehicle then entered the northbound lanes of traffic, striking a pickup truck that was occupied by multiple people, Money said. Both the occupants of a pickup truck and the suspect were transported for medical treatment. Their condition is currently unknown.

The vehicle the offender was driving was stolen, Money said, and the offender was also in possession of a stolen gun.
