Arrest Made In West Jefferson County Home Invasion
A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a home invasion in Jefferson County.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A man has been arrested in connection with a home invasion in west Jefferson County Thursday. The incident occurred in the 600 Block of Elm Street SW just after 4 a.m.
Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the victim called and whispered that someone was going to kill her. Deputies arrived on the scene moments later to find the victim running out the front door. She told deputies that there was an unknown man in her home and he had a gun, Money said.
The suspect reportedly appeared in the front door and pointed a rifle at a deputy. Money said the deputy fired at the man, who quickly retreated back into the home. The reportedly suspect fled out a back window of the residence, leaving a blood trail.

Money said Bessemer Police located the suspect at a grocery store on 4th Avenue, and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office took 26-year-old Dai Qwane Rickey Burgin-Goodson (aka Rickey Burgin) into custody.
Burgin-Goodson is being held without bond on charges of burglary, rape and assault.
