Center Point Apartment Fire Displaces 12 Residents

Twelve people, including 6 children, have been displaced after an apartment complex caught fire Wednesday morning in Center Point.

CENTER POINT, AL — An apartment fire early Wednesday morning has resulted in one person injured and 12 residents now displaced. The fire occurred just before 4 a.m. at Woodside Condominiums on Shadowood Circle.

The fire was called in by a police officer driving in the area, according to a WVTM report. A witness told WVTM that his uncle helped four children escape the fire, catching them as they jumped from an apartment window. The man was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The 12 residents affected include six children.

The fire was extinguished but four units were damaged. This is the second residential fire in the last week battled by the Center Point Fire Department, as the CPFD fought a house fire over Labor Day weekend.
