Delivery Driver Kidnapped, Robbed In Center Point: Report

A delivery driver said that the man pulled a gun, demanded his keys and then drove off with him in the back of the truck.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A delivery driver was reportedly robbed and kidnapped while in Center Point Tuesday night. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. in the 300 block of Sunhill Road.

Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said the driver reported that he was making a delivery when he was approached by a black male wearing a gray hoodie. The driver said the man pulled a gun, demanded his keys and then drove off with him in the back of the truck.

The driver was reportedly able to open the rear door of the truck and jump out after a few blocks. A resident witnessed the driver jumping out of the truck and called 911.

Deputies and detectives are tracking the vehicle. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to notify the JCSO at 205-325-1450.
