Domestic Violence Incident Results In Shooting: Sheriff

A Pinson man was shot during an incident law enforcement officials are saying was a domestic dispute.

PINSON, AL — A man was shot during an incident law enforcement officials describe as a domestic violence case in Pinson. Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to the shooting Dec, 24 at 9:15 p.m.

Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said the incident occurred in the 4000 block of Mountain View Drive in Pinson. Deputies arrived and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. Agee said first responders rendered medical attention and the man was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Witnesses reported that the man had thrown his wife through a window and then began choking her when he was shot by his 17-year-old stepson. The stepson was released to another family member and taken to another location, Agee said.

The victim is expected to survive his wounds, and the case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office.
