Hunter Found Dead After Falling From Tree Stand: Sheriff

A 52-year-old hunter in Jefferson County was found dead after he reportedly fell from a tree stand

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A 52-year-old man was found dead Tuesday after reportedly falling from a tree stand while hunting. The man was found just before noon near the Turnberry Highlands Subdivision in Northern Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday identified the victim as David Earl Jordan of Kimberly.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said family members were concerned after Jordan had not returned from a hunting excursion, and went looking for him. Family members notified authorities when they discovered his body.

No foul play is suspected in the case, Money said.
