Man Accused Of Shooting Georgia Deputy Arrested In Pell City

A man accused of shooting a sheriff's deputy in Georgia Saturday night was captured in St. Clair County.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, AL — A man accused of shooting a Lamar County, Georgia deputy Saturday was arrested in Pell City. Donald Gordy, 38, of Barnesville, Georgia, was taken into custody on I-20 Saturday night, according to an ABC 33/40 report.

The Lamar County Sheriff's Office said Deputy Justyn Weaver responded to a call of a suspicious person when he was shot after multiple shots were fired. Gordy reportedly fled in a white pickup truck, according to the report.
