Man Fires Shots Inside Center Point Business

A man accused of firing shots into a Center Point business was reportedly angry about a cell phone.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A man was arrested after witnesses said he fired shots into a Center Point business Tuesday. The incident occurred in the 1600 Block of Center Point Parkway just after 5:30 p.m.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said according to witnesses, 22-year-old Keith Parker was involved in a disagreement over a cell phone with the employees of the business. He then brandished a firearm and fired shots towards the employees, Money said.

Deputies were able to capture Parker after he fled the scene. Parker was charged with two counts of attempted murder, shooting into an occupied building, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bonds total $177,000.
