Man Found Shot In Car On I-59 Hospitalized

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A man was shot while in the passenger seat of a car on I-59 Saturday, according to police. The incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. on I-59 at the Tallapoosa Street exit.

Officer Truman Fitzgerald of the Birmingham Police Department said the victim was taken to UAB Hospital, but his condition is unknown.

Fitzgerald said the preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was shot on Sipsey Street in Patton Park.
