Man Shot In His Home During Robbery Attempt: Sheriff
A Jefferson County man came home to find two masked men trying to rob him and was reportedly shot during the incident.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A man was shot at his Jefferson County home Monday when he was reportedly being robbed by two masked men. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 2300 block of Grayson Valley Drive.
Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said deputies arrived at the home and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim told deputies he came home and was confronted by two masked men armed with a pistol who demanded his wallet.
The victim reported that he struggled with the men and was shot during the fight. The two men reportedly fled the scene. Agee said neighbors helped the victim until first responders arrived.

The victim’s injuries were determined to be serious but not life-threatening and he is expected to survive.
