Memorial Service Planned For Man Found In Cosby Lake
A memorial service will be held for Russell Patterson, who died last week at Cosby Lake in Clay.

CLAY, AL — A memorial service has been planned for a man whose body was found in Cosby Lake Wednesday. The body of Russell Patterson, who was last seen alive July 2, was discovered July 3 after an extensive search. Patterson's family is holding a memorial for him Tuesday.
The service will be at Cosby Lake on Tuesday, July 9 at 7 p.m., exactly one week after Patterson disappeared.
Patterson often fished on Cosby Lake, according to family members. When he did not return home after a fishing excursion, his family called police. Patterson's kayak was found overturned, and a search began.

Patterson was a U.S. Army Ranger veteran, and served two tours with the unit. He was 36 years old at the time of his death.
