• Local health experts to go door to door and survey Birmingham area (wvtm13.com) — Jefferson County health workers will be going door to door in Trussville and nearby communities September 30–October 1 to ask adults about local health needs and services. Staff will wear JCDH shirts and photo IDs, and participation is voluntary but helps shape future programs, so Trussville residents may want to be ready to share their experiences.
   

• Trussville man indicted in fatal shooting of Auburn graduate (trussvilletribune.com) — A Trussville man has been indicted on a reckless manslaughter charge in the March shooting death of a 22-year-old Auburn graduate inside his Deer Trail home, following a lengthy police investigation. He remains free on bond while both the criminal case and a separate wrongful death lawsuit proceed in Jefferson County court, where evidence about the firearm and circumstances will be examined.
