Pinson Man Charged In Major Jefferson County Crash

A crash that sent eight victims to the hospital has resulted in multiple charges against a Pinson man.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A multi-vehicle crash Nov. 2 sent eight people to the hospital, and resulted in DUI charges against a Pinson man. William Eric Nail, 35, has now also been charged with one count of first-degree assault, seven counts of second-degree assault as well as possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said the three-vehicle crash occurred just after 6:30 p.m. Nov. 2 on Pinson Valley Parkway and Westchester Drive.

Agee said eight of the occupants of the other vehicles were hospitalized, but all survived.

Nail is being held in Jefferson County Jail on $145,300 bond.
