Police Chase Beginning In Hueytown Ends In Talladega County
A police chase that started in Jefferson County ended on I-20 in Talladega County Sunday night.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A police chase that began in Jefferson County Sunday finally ended in Talladega County right outside Munford.
The chase involved gun shots fired at police, and a Birmingham police officer wrecking his vehicle in Leeds, according to Birmingham police. The officer was not injured in the wreck.
Police said multiple vehicles were struck by gunfire during the chase, which began around 9 p.m. Sunday.

I-20 was shut down for a large part of the night Sunday due to the chase, which resulted in one arrest, while another suspect is still missing. The chase ended outside of Munford when law enforcement placed spikes on the interstate, which caused the suspects' vehicle to crash. Both people in the vehicle ran from the scene, and one was apprehended.
The other suspect has not been taken into custody.
