A 17-year-old victim was shot in the leg outside a Center Point home Sunday afternoon.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A shooting Sunday afternoon in Center Point left one victim hospitalized. The 17-year-old victim does not appear to have life-threatening injuries.

Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said the incident occurred just before 4 p.m. Sunday. Agee said deputies reported to a home in the 1200 block of Magnolia Place in Center Point to investigate the shooting and were informed that a 17-year-old male had been transported to the hospital in a private vehicle after being shot in the leg.

Witnesses report that they were outside of the home when a black Dodge Avenger drove by, stopped and the occupants fired shots at them.
