Two Shootings In East Jefferson County Under Investigation
Jefferson County detectives are investigating two separate shooting incidents Sunday.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Two separate shootings Sunday in east Jefferson County are under investigation. The victims in both shootings sustained injuries that are not life-threatening.
Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the first shooting occurred just after 9 p.m. near the 2500 Block of Center Point Parkway. Money said a victim was driving when he heard gunshots and realized that he had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The second shooting occurred at the Candy Mountain Apartments on Carson Road, Money said. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a 32-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. Witnesses stated that there were several people shooting at each other. The victim was not involved in the incident and was hit by stray gunfire, Money said.
