Woman Attacked, Robbed Outside St. Vincent’s East: Police

Police say a woman was robbed at knife point outside St. Vincent's East hospital on Tuesday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A robbery was reported Tuesday night outside St. Vincent's East Hospital.

The Birmingham Police Department responded to a woman who said she was attacked and robbed at knifepoint around 9 p.m.

Sergeant Johnny Williams of the Birmingham Police Department said the woman was cut, but her injuries were not life-threatening.

The suspect reportedly managed to flee the location and burglarized a nearby home and took the keys to the victims’ vehicle. A short time after leaving the location in the vehicle, the suspect became involved in a vehicle pursuit with BPD patrol officers, Williams said.

Officers were able to take the suspect into custody, and he has been identified as 34-year-old Christopher Goodlett of Birmingham. He has been charged with robbery, theft and burglary.
