As part of the closures, ALDOT said the contractor will place temporary supports beneath the bridge to allow workers to repair rebar, place concrete and to partially remove and repair one girder.

Motorists are encouraged to take US Highway 11, Highway 216 or other alternate routes to avoid delays due to the closures.

ALDOT West Central Region Engineer Wallace McAdory III said the bridge poses no immediate danger to the public, but stressed the importance of making the repairs before problems worsen.

“We recognize that these repairs will impact traffic, so please make sure to leave early to reach your destination on time," McAdory said.
